It's Seattle-based and yet in spite of its name, Livemocha doesn't have anything to do with coffee. It's the latest addition to Spokane County Library District online resources.

The world's largest online language learning community, Livemocha, offers free online language courses in 38 languages including Russian, Spanish and Mandarin to over 12 million members from over 190 countries. It also offers extensive English as a Second Language (ESL) support, including assistance from native speakers.

With a valid SCLD library card, Livemocha is accessible anywhere, 24/7, and is easy to use.

Just choose a language from the drop-down menu and register with your email address and a password to log in. Livemocha is listed with Information Databases, under the SCLD Web site Research tab.

Due to licensing restrictions, as with many other online resources, remote access to Livemocha is limited to district residents.
