Razor Duke receives $100 gift card

Seven year old Razor Duke, a Tiger Cub Scout from Pack 160, was pleasantly surprised with a $100 Walmart gift card, at the Pack meeting on Monday, Dec 16. The Pack meeting started out with caroling to some elderly community members. Upon returning to the school for the pack awards, Razor was presented the gift card from the Grand Teton Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

This year the council gave out two gift cards to each district in the council, one to be awarded to a new boy joining scouts and one to be awarded to a scout who recruited a boy to scouting. Drawings were held in the Bing Pow District at Roundtable leader training held Thursday, Dec 5. Razor's name was drawn from a pool of 10 names.

Razor was born in Idaho Falls and lived several years in Mackey, ID. He moved to Aberdeen two years ago when his mom Catrina was hired as a teacher in the Aberdeen School District. He is an energetic, fun loving boy who loves to be involved in sports and other activities. He learned about scouting from several friends and couldn't wait to turn old enough to join. He is determined to do his best in scouting and earn every badge and award possible. Not only was he overjoyed to receive the gift card, he is also very grateful to the Grand Teton Council for it and promises to put this card to good use.

This fall Pack 160 was able to add eight new boys to their membership through a successful recruitment night and the help of boys helping their friends get excited about the program. Scouting is a value based program where boys learn about their Duty to God and their Country while learning skills that will prepare them to lead successful lives.
