Program offers fresh, locally grown produce in Springfield

CopyA new program has come to the Springfield area called "Provident Produce". Nels Bi-Lo of Pocatello offers this program to Chubbuck, Pocatello, Idaho Falls, Springfield and Rexburg.
They come to Springfield on Thursday to bring pre-or-dered baskets which come in two sizes. Basket prices are small for $12 and a large is $20. Baskets can be ordered online at www.providentpro-duce.com. Orders must be made by Wednesday at 8 a.m. on the website. Access to the program is also available by liking Provident Produce on Facebook. Besides fruit and vegetables, orders can be placed for local eggs, bread, cookies and cases of fruit and other various items as they are available. Meat can also be ordered and delivered with baskets.
The produce will be delivered on Thursdays at 11 a.m. at the Lakeview LDS Church building at 2120 W 800 S., Springfield.
This service started in November. Site coordinator is Angelina Thelin. John Fisher started the program in Pocatello.
Another aspect of this program is that by referring someone to the site, if they sign up you get credit toward earning a free basket.
