Businesses that want to e-file both their federal and state income tax returns should visit the Idaho State Tax Commission's website, tax.idaho.gov.

The site features approved software developers that offer electronic filing for Idaho's corporation, S corporation, and partnership tax returns, as well as federal returns. The list is available through the Business income tax e-filing link under 'Quick Picks' on the home page.

"The software providers charge different fees and offer different levels of services for e-filing state and federal returns, so businesses should compare the offers to see which one best serves their needs," said Doreen Warren, Revenue Operations division administrator for the Tax Commission.

She added, "E-filing state returns is a cost-effective way to submit returns for tax preparers. If their current tax software doesn't support business e-filing for Idaho, they should ask their software company to add an e-file option for Idaho returns."

Electronic filing saves paper and mailing costs, and provides businesses with a confirmation receipt.

Last year about 56 percent of Idaho businesses filed their income tax returns online.
