New seat filled for Wyandotte school board

The Wyandotte Board of Education met March 12 in regular session to welcome newly elected Board member for Seat No. 2, Keith Enyart who took the Cumulative Oath. Officers were voted and Tim Stone is President, Alan Goforth Vice-President, Russ McCloud is Clerk, and Danny Douthit is Deputy Clerk of the Board.

For the High School, it was reported that Justin Walton won first place and Nathan Pesek, third place, in the Men's Division and Alex Lyons first place and Samantha Scheib, third place in the Women's Division, of the Masonic Charity Essay Contest. Hunter Rhodes and Brooke Romine entered through NEO where they are taking English, placed second in their respective Divisions.

FFA officers attended the FFA Day at the Capitol to meet with legislators and discuss Ag related issues on February 20. Nathan Pesek has received a Regent's Scholarship and plans to attend Oklahoma University. Twenty students attended NEO Math Day and several students placed in their Divisions; Nathan Pesek won a scholarship as the top-performing senior.

Approved Building Fund in the amount of $3,800.00.

Approved Child Nutrition in the amount of $16,777.36.

Approved General Fund in the amount of $58,455.06.

Accept the resignations of Scott Renken, Boys Head Basketball Coach, and David Anderson, Maintenance Repairer/General Utility.

Accept audit contract, audit engagement letter, and Estimate of Needs engagement letter for the physical year ended June 30, 2012, with Turner & Associates; PLC.
