CopyDelbert LeeRoy Pagel Sr., 84, of Atwood passed away at 1:19 p.m., Thursday,1 December 19, 2013, at his residence.
Mr. Pagel was born on October 11, 1929, in Bible Grove. He was the son of Everett August and Gatha Iona Reeves Pagel. He married Pauline Sparks on June 1, 1956, in Covington, Indiana. She survives.
Other survivors include four sons, Delbert Pagel Jr. and wife Diane, Thomas Pagel and wife Kim, Frank Pagel Sr. and wife Avie, and Kerry Pagel; three daughters, Belinda Baldwin, Jackie Tuthill and husband Jason, and Kelley Frazier and husband Keith; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Herman Pagel and wife Doris, Kenny Pagel, and Everett Pagel; and three sisters, Dorothy Cole and husband Herbert, Wanda West, and Lois Goen.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Deborah Pagel; a brother; and two sisters.
Mr. Pagel worked as a roofer. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and woodworking.
Per his wishes, no services were held. Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, Atwood, was entrusted with the arrangements.
