Funeral services for Mr. Elwyn Cecil Sparks, age 62 of Dubach, were held 2 PM Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Dubach United Pentecostal Church in Dubach, LA. Officiating the service was Rev. Kevin Cox and Dr. Douglas Stewart. Burial followed in Unionville Cemetery near Dubach under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston.

Mr. Sparks was born July 8, 1951 in Shreveport to R.C. Sparks and Rosa Wade Sparks. He died December 23, 2013 in Ruston. Mr. Sparks was an accounting supervisor for Century Link. In his spare time he enjoyed playing piano, exercising on his stationary bike, reading his Bible and listening to music. He was preceded in death by his father.

Mr. Sparks is survived by his wife of 33 years: Darlene Sparks; his mother: Rosa Sparks; brother: Arlen Sparks and wife Jovie; Sister: Rosemary and husband Douglas Stewart and a host of friends.

The family would like to thank their good neighbors and friends who helped care for and encourage them: Don Dufour, Madelyn and Herschel Cooper, Ed Gaskin, Arvester Mayfield, Amanda Hinton, Mary Margaret Green and Arlene Gandy.

Pallbearers were Greg Brown, Adam Wright, Chris Moore, Brandon Sepulvado, Donald Willett and Lucas McGee.

Honorary pallbearers were Herschel Cooper, Ed Gaskin, Larry Ferguson and Don Dufour.

Visitation was held from 12 Noon until 2 PM.
