A Belfair teenager sustained serious injuries and had to be airlifted to Har-borview Medical Center in Seattle following a South Shore wreck on Saturday afternoon.

According to the state patrol, Belfair's Brandon

S. Fortner, 17, was heading eastbound on State Route 106 near Milepost 18, about three miles west of town, when he crossed the centerline, overcorrect-ed and lost control. At that point, a state patrol report indicates, Fortner's silver 2001 Hyundai Accent spun into the westbound lane and struck a maroon 2000 Dodge pickup being driven by Belfair resident Pauline M. Warren, 48.

The wreck occurred at about 3:50 p.m. Fortner was subsequently airlifted and Warren was transported to Mason General Hospital in Shelton with minor injuries. A Harborview spokesperson said Monday afternoon that Fortner was in satisfactory condition.

The cause of the collision is under investigation by the state patrol and charges are still pending. A state patrol report said that drugs and alcohol were not a factor.
