The Rock Hills FCCLA organization will present a Veterans Day program Wednesday, beginning at 9 a.m. in the high school gymnasium. FCCLA is being assisted by the local VFW post and auxiliary, RockHills Student Council, local Boy Scout troop and the Emory Clemons Junior Girls Auxiliary.

The public is invited to attend; the program is given not only in honor of those veterans who live in our community but also for the POWs, MIAs and all veterans who gave of their lives so we may live in this free country today.

FCCLA members will be presenting speeches directed to the honor of our local Veterans. Rock Hills elementary students, kindergarten through fifth grade, under the direction of Barb Elbracht, will salute the veterans and those in attendance with song. The Rock Hills High School band will be playing the service songs. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear the VFW Auxiliary contest winners give their Voice of Democracy and Patriotic Pen winning entries.

A Veterans Wall of Honor will be on display in the commons area of the school, starting tomorrow (Friday) morning and remaining through Wednesday.

Following the program there will be coffee served to the veterans and guests, also in the commons area.

Parking will be available in the north or south parking lot surrounding the school. Also there will be parking in the agriculture-industrial arts fenced in area just east of the gym and the doors will be open on the east side of the gym for individuals to enter. There will be students, members of Rock Hills High School Student Council, available to assist those attending with their parking or reaching their seats safely.

FCCLA members are Emily Cox, Allison Railsback, Emilee Whelchel, Lexi Jeffery, Jalee Ortman, Samantha Fogo, Alexys Meier and Sarena Meier. Sponsor is Barbara Railsback.
