Allyn to honor veterans, military

CopyThe 17th annual "A Time for Remembering" observance is scheduled to take place Memorial Day, May 30, at the Allyn Waterfront Park. The Allyn Community Association, the North Mason Chamber of Commerce and the Port of Allyn put the event on each year.
The event starts at 11 a.m.
The event is a time for the community to gather to remember veterans, their families and those who died during service in the armed forces. This year's honorees are women in the military, both veterans and active duty.
Veterans are encouraged to bring photos and memorabilia from service years; areas will be available to display them. Veterans are also invited to share their names and experiences during the program.
The event will take place rain or shine.
