Halloween test seeks donations for candy
Saturday, Oct. 31, sees the return on the annual Main Street Trunk or Treat Halloween Festival in downtown Camp Verde.
Main Street will be closed from 5 to 7 p.m. to allow for a safe environment for families to enjoy the activities.
Camp Verde Parks & Recreation is now accepting donations of candy and money to purchase candy for this event. The candy will be divided up and delivered to participants to supplement candy bought by businesses, organizations and individuals who will passing out candy to costumed children while they enjoy entertainment, food and other activities.
In addition to the trick or treat activities, various groups will be providing other activities including haunted houses, musical entertainment and food. South Verde High School will be having a haunted house, AZ Central Land Realty will be doing its Halloween decoration extravaganza as well as other decorated businesses and cars. Parkside Community Church, Lions Club and the Kiwanis Club of Camp Verde are just some of the community groups joining this event.
Donations of candy or money can be dropped off or mailed to Camp Verde Parks & Recreation at 395 S. Main St. Those with questions or who want to participate are asked to contact Michael Marshall at 554-0828.
