Hilton Sedona Resort & Spa has received global recognition for its youth in culinary initiatives, receiving the Best Practices Award for Ql 2014 from Hilton's Bright Blue Futures Program.

The resort was recognized by Bright Blue Futures for its efforts to support youth in hospitality, through its ongoing series Youth In Culinary that pairs local students with the resort's Executive Chef Salvatore Moscato for a day of learning about cooking and career opportunities in the culinary world.

During the most recent event, the resort hosted students from Camp Verde High School and together with Moscato created a three-course meal that was then served to resort team members.

"Young people continue to face challenging employment prospects, so it is more important than ever to make sure they receive information and advice about the options available and the skills and attributes they will need once they embark on their chosen careers," said Edgar Lozoya, general manager of the resort. "We are passionate about raising awareness of the opportunities the hospitality industry offers and we are delighted to be doing this through our Youth In Culinary series."

Bright Blue Futures is Hilton's global community relations program that helps young people achieve stability through the delivery of basic needs and discover hope for a brighter future through education, life skills development, workforce training and employment.
