Ross Taylor dies in auto accident on rural road

Ross C. Taylor, 19, of Arthur died early Sunday from injuries he sustained in a single-vehicle accident on a country road north of Mattoon.

Coles County Sheriff's deputies Cooks Mills; fire personnel, 'and Dunn Ambulance Service responded to a call around 12:34 a.m. concerning an accident at 3724 E County Road 1600N where a vehicle had caught fire.

According to Coles County Deputy John W. Clough, traffic crash investigator, the 2001 Toyota Camry Taylor was driving left the roadway, struck a concrete bridge end, and caught fire.

Dunn Ambulance Service transported Taylor to Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center where he was pronounced dead.
