ME rules shot accident that kills Brunson
Concerning the death investigation of Richard Scott Brunson, which happened on Jan. 14, the Medical Examiner has completed his report and has concluded and ruled this death an accident, which is in agreement with Pine Hill Police invetigation.
Chief John Brown issued this statement Monday, April 22.
On Jan. 14, the Pine Hill police responded to two loud bangs on Green Street at Branson's residence.
Neighbors said they heard two loud bangs as did his two daughters.
His daughters found him face down on the floor of his shed and they called 911.
After the ambulance arrived, the man was turned over and police discovered single gunshot wound to his chest.
Brunson was taken to the hospital in Grove Hill and later transferred to the University of South Alabama medical trauma center in Mobile. He was pronounced dead there about four hours after he was shot.
