Thomasville men sling hot lead In Dixons Mills

Brian Thomas of Dixons Mills got hit by one bullet Saturday morning, Nov. 2.

He is the only one reported injured in the shooting where several different shell casings were picked up off the floor by Marengo County deputies.

That one bullet hit his right chest and punctured one lung.

The other man injured was Ben Robertson of Dixons Mills area. While the shooting was still going on, he was trying to help load Thomas in a car and his leg "got caught in the door" but it didn't break it.

The shooting victim and the leg injury victim were raced to Butler where Thomas was stabilized and taken be ambulance to DCH in Tuscaloosa. He was in intensive care Monday.

Robertson was treated in Butler for a laceration in his leg and released.

The Wayne Pool Hall in Dixons Mills is where people from several communities congregate and the 25-year-old Thomas was one of those.

Sheriff Richard Bates said his deputies are ques`tioning a number of people trying to determine who started the fight and who started shooting and who shot Thomas.
