School will host walk down memory lane
Celebrating the 3R's... Reunion, Retirement, Restoration is being hosted Saturday, May 2, by the Beaver Creek Preservation and Historical Society at Beaver Creek School.
Those who remember the "end-of-school-year picnics" at the Montezuma Well park may want to join Kathy Reay and crew as they organize water-balloon fights, gunnysack races and other games during the lunch hour. Tour the school, including the rock building, and enjoy looking through yearbooks, scrapbooks and picture albums.
Paula Drake and her former guitar students and the Beaver Creek Philharmonics will provide entertainment. Current students will perform a short play, "Beaver Creek Daze." The retiree reception from 3 to 5 p.m. will honor James Clifford, Marguerite Cowan, VickySandell and Jimmy Womack.
The website offers details about the event's activities, including the egg drop, and items are being gathered for a time capsule.
To register, go to the Beaver Creek history website and complete the registration information. The fee is $10 and that includes spouse and family. Special t-shirts are available and may be ordered online.
Registration forms are also available throughout the Beaver Creek community or contact Judy at 567-4648.
