The Rehoboth Beach Farmers Market will open for its 10th season Tuesday, May 3, in Grove Park, at the lighthouse circle, behind the Chamber of Commerce visitor center.

This market, rated as one of the top markets in Delaware, will be celebrating its 10th anniversary throughout the season with special giveaway kitchen items, special music and raffles. In addition to the festivities, the crowd pleasing fresh produce and interesting local products will be available again.

For the opening market, the first 50 customers will get a free present as a thank you to the loyal patrons who have helped make the RBFM the success it is. This present, one of many give ways and new items for sale this season, will be great for preparing fresh vegetables and fruits from the market. The information tent will have new items for purchase.

Music will add to the shopping experience. Rehoboth musician and chef Paul Cullen will be the entertainer May 3.

Pat Coluzzi, market master, announced there will be 34 vendors for the season, many returning for their 10th season, plus some new vendors. Prepared food will be available for lunch, which can be eaten at the picnic tables in the park or taken home.

For a weekly newsletter with information about the growing seasons of the fruits and vegetables, go to This makes it easy to plan visits to the market when popular items, such as corn and tomatoes, will be available. Delicious recipes are on the website for easy and healthful preparation.

SNAP benefits, otherwise known as food stamps, are available this season. To learn how to purchase tokens for SNAP purchases, check the website above.

The market owes much of its success over the years to the volunteers who help with the setup and takedown of the tents. Volunteers are also key to the success of the information tent. There are behind-the-scenes volunteer activities such as writing the newsletter, doing research on fruits and vegetables, and help. For more information, contact Pat Coluzzi at
