Volunteering at Northern Arizona Healthcare's facilities is a great way to get involved in the community, network with others and add new skills to a resume. NAH carefully matches volunteers with assignments they will enjoy most.

Volunteer opportunities are available in all departments at both Flagstaff Medical Center and Verde Valley Medical Center.

Volunteers, a valuable asset to NAH, give the ultimate gifts: Time and love. NAH has more than 950 volunteers who donated more than 58,045 hours of their time last year. Their assistance enhances the quality of care we are able to offer patients, families and visitors to our hospitals.

Volunteers must be 16 years or older and able to commit to four hours per week. Each volunteer is matched with an assignment that fits his or her personality, ability and schedule. No special skills or training are needed — just an open heart and a warm smile.

The diversity of volunteers — from homemakers to professionals, students to retirees, young to mature — makes the facilities stronger and better able to serve the health care needs of the community. Key qualifications for volunteers are a helpful, caring attitude and a respect for confidentiality. Our orientation process will provide you with additional information.

Volunteering means different things to different people. It may mean helping others through difficult times, make new friends or find a new passion.

It is also a great way for young adults to learn about different roles in health care — and can sometimes be counted toward school and university credits.

Those who are considering a career in health care can find that volunteering at NAH allows them to get a personal took at the industry and meet people who can help on their career path.

To volunteer at Verde Valley Medical Center, including the Sedona Campus, call Volunteer Services at 639-6413.
