Commission seeks candidates for UGA advisory committee

The Mason County Commission is still searching for candidates interested in serving on the Mason County Joint Citizen Advisory Committee of the Allyn and Belfair Urban Growth Areas.

The commission passed a resolution June 9 to approve the joint advisory committee, which will provide recommendations to commissioners for the 2016 Growth Management Act Update.

The goal of the update is to create consistency between the Allyn and Belfair Urban Growth Areas.

No fewer than seven and no more than 11 members will be on the committee. Members must reside in either the Belfair or Allyn Urban Growth Area.

Specific meeting dates and times will be determined by the committee, and members will serve until May 31.

Residents of Mason County with an interest in providing guidance and assistance are encouraged to apply for a position on the committee.

Completed applications are due to the commissioners by Aug. 28.
