Roadwork will close Lake Boulevard stretch
Starting Monday, Lake Boulevard between Arcadia Avenue and Wyoming Avenue in Shelton will be closed as a contractor for the city installs water, storm and sewer utilities and rebuilds the notoriously broken road.
Only Shelton residents who live in the closed area will be allowed access to the area during the closure, which is expected to continue until the end of June 2016, the city's engineering department states.
Pioneer Way will also remain closed between Harvard Avenue and University Avenue during the same period, the city reports. University Avenue will be open to traffic between Second Street and Boundary Street, and will be controlled by flaggers during working hours.
Crews also will be working between the city limits and California Avenue, and flaggers will also control that stretch.
Motorists can expect delays that last up to 20 minutes.
Detours will be in place to route traffic around work areas, the city states.
