In response to concerns over the expansion of two local bars, the Delaware Alcoholic Beverage Control Commissioner will hold public hearings Monday, May 11.

The first hearing deals with Dogfish Head Craft Brewery Inc's application for a proposed patio at its Milton location in Cannery Village. This hearing is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.

The second hearing is in regards to a proposed increase of bar space at the Paradise Grill, located at Pot-Nets Bayside in Millsboro. The applicant has applied for approval to add an additional 19,051 square feet to the licensed patio, which would include a 417-square-foot bar with 24 seats, a 417-square-foot raw bar with 24 seats and a 576 square-foot stage.

Residents of the Pot Nets community have also filed a protest over concerns regarding how the owner is conducting business within their community. Both issues will be heard at 6 p.m.

The hearings will be held in the Sussex County Council Chambers, Administrative Building, The Circle, Georgetown.
