To commemorate Small Business Saturday, the Pleasants Area Chamber of Commerce is offering members an opportunity to showcase their holiday-season sales, promotions and specials with a newspaper publication.

The Chamber is putting together a Small Business Saturday tab to feature member businesses' Black Friday and Small Business Saturday specials.

This is a free service to Pleasants Area Chamber of Commerce members. By advertising together, it's the Chamber's hope, the combination can pull new customers into the area.

The publication will run a few days before Thanksgiving (Wednesday, Nov. 25) and go out in newspapers in Pleasants, Ritchie, Tyler and Wetzel counties and Washington County, Ohio.

This is a concentrated effort to bring people who might not think about the Pleasants County area as a shopping destination. This is an opportunity to bring new customers to you and grow your business. We want to give people a reason to come to our area to shop. We want to showcase our stores, shops, restaurants; all the things that make us unique. This tab is going to help bring all that together.

Again, this is free for Pleasants Area Chamber of Commerce members.

"Non-Members can run ads for $250. I should note non-member businesses can join the Chamber for just $200 a year," the chamber's executive director Jody Murphy said.

The Small Business Saturday Tab is open to any Chamber member to advertise. Members are also invited to post an ad, which is free, showing support for their fellow Small Businesses and chamber members.

I hope our retail stores, grocers, sales people, specialty shops, and restaurants take advantage of this opportunity. 1 emailed our Chamber members earlier this week. If you did not receive that email and wish to participate, contact the Chamber office at 304.684.9909," reminded Murphy.

Deadline for ads is Oct. 30.

The tab will be distributed by newspapers in Pleasants, Tyler and Ritchie County and reach thousands of subscribers and shoppers days before they plan their weekend shopping trips.

"Our belief is they will see what's offered by Pleasants Area Chamber of Commerce members on Small Business Saturday and make plans to spend time — and money — here," stated Murphy.

"Don't be left out. Take advantage of this opportunity.

Let's kickott the Holiday Shopping season with a bang and make Small Business Saturday here a success!" he concluded.

Contact the Chamber for questions or additional information.
