Tickets on sale for annual Mason General fundraiser
As the autumn season begins to fade into winter, twinkling lights, jingling bells and fresh evergreens begin to appear in storefronts and home. As part of as annual tradition for Mason County, the Fantasy Forest benefit arrives with the holiday season.
This year marks the 19th annual Fantasy Forest, a benefit that supports Mason General Hospital & Family of Clinics. The event is scheduled Nov. 18-21 at Alderbrook Resort and Spa, located at 7101 E. state Route 106 in Union.
Fantasy Forest includes a plethora of events for the whole family that help to raise money for the Shelton-based hospital.
The week includes events such as a fashion show, father/daughter dance and wine tasting.
The Candy Cane Carnival is scheduled from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Nov. 21. Santa Claus will be at Alderbrook Spa, and children younger than 3 years old are admitted free.
That night, the Grand Gala and Live Auction will take place. Doors open at 5 p.m., with the program scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. Part of event proceeds go to the Mason General Hospital Foundation, a volunteer charitable organization that raises and manages financial support for Mason General.
Because technology in health care is constantly changing and improving, the hospital strives to purchase and update the hospital's equipment and services. The annual Fantasy Forest event also provides funds for the purchase of medical equipment and healthcare services such as a colonoscope for the surgery department, critical care beds for the Intensive Care Unit, EKG machines and a variety of pediatric tools, according to a news release.
The deadline to purchase tickets is Nov. 9. To purchase tickets or for more information, call the Development office at 427-3623, or visit www.masongeneral.com/fantasy_forest.html.
