The Oak Creek Band will play at Sound Bites Grill in the Shops at Hyatt Pinon Pointe on Wednesday, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m. Solo artist Angelica Rockne will open for the band.

The Oak Creek Band is touring the Southwest this month in support of its upcoming debut full-length album "XI [Eleven]," which was released Monday, Nov. 11. The band posted a new song from the album each week on its website leading up to the release, along with original artwork and additional media.

The new album was recorded in Nashville, Tenn., in May at The Pink Mailbox, a home studio. The career-spanning album recalls some of the first songs ever written by founders Daniel and Jenna Watters and songs that, at the time of recording, had never before been performed live.

The band's continued exploration of Americana, rock, funk and soul music creates a timeless sound that, while hard to define, is also strangely, familiar. An all-star cast of Nashville musicians was recruited to play keys, percussion and saxophone with the core band, embodying the live energy that epitomizes The Oak Creek Band.

"XI [Eleven]" is a number that symbolizes justice and balance — a number which cannot be divided equally — and embodies the balance and relationship between lead singers Daniel and Jenna Watters.

The album art features scales, the classic symbol of justice, with the sun and the moon, exemplifying the extremes and balance between them.

Los Angeles-based artist Hilary Wootton crafted the album artwork in collaboration with the band. Wootton is also hand-painting a weekly illustration for each of the eleven songs on the album, as they are released week by week.

The Oak Creek Band will be traveling from Nashville to Los Angeles and back. This stop marks the band's first return to Arizona since its relocation to Nashville from Colorado in February.

Tickets are $15 pre-sale and $18 the day of show. They are available at (800) 838-3006 or at the Sound Bites Grill website.
