Mina Alice (Cooper) Voss

Mina Alice (Cooper) Voss was born in Nucla, Colo., on Oct. 10, 1922, and died in Montrose, Colo., on Dec. 31, 2011. She was 89 years old.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Jan. 27 at Hillcrest United Church of Christ. Fellowship and refreshments will follow.

Mina was the third of five children born to Wilbert James Cooper and Alice Myrtle (Fry) Cooper. She attended grade school in Nucla in the summers at Ute (a small settlement for cattlemen) and Mesa State College in Grand Junction.

In 1942, she was married to Charles Milton "Mick" Voss. Mina had two children, Gayle LaRee and Gilbert "Gib" Milton.

Mina was a dedicated mother and grandmother, managed the family-owned Milton Motel, and worked in real estate sales.

She loved her ranch home on Log Hill and wintered in Tucson for many years.

Mina was a devoted member of the Fortuna Tierra Club, and had a passion for art, music, and dancing.

Survivors include her sister, Joyce Lomax; two grandchildren, Michael Andrew Hayward and Michelle ReNae (Rettmann) Shipley; and her great-grandchild, Hannah Marie Shipley.
