Superior Head Start off to a great start!
After a two-week winter break, school is back in for Superior Head Start and after spending a nice time with family and friends, the teaching staff and students are settling back in, getting reacquainted and gearing up for great fun and learning.
Learning what? How to be social in an appropriate manner, cooperation, sharing, working out problems are all part of the focus. Too, there are lessons learned by doing, in how to eat healthy and exercising daily. The children also engage in reading a variety of books and practicing pre-writing skills.
Some important dates are coming up this month beginning with a walking field trip adventure on Wednesday, Jan. 25, to Save Money Market to tour the local grocery store and to purchase fresh vegetables. The children will be slicing vegetables to prepare "vegetable soup" for the food tasting activity.
On Thursday, Jan. 26, the children will be participating in Read To Kids Day. Superior Head Start invites local residents, community and family members to participate by being a guest reader.
