Two Colville Business Council members attended the town council meeting in Coulee Dam to encourage cooperation.

CBC members Ricky Gabriel and Darlene Zacherle listened in on the informational meeting held on the upcoming wastewater treatment plant improvements that will cost millions and double rates for 20 years.

Gabriel noted those rates will fall to tribal members, too, and he urged greater cooperation between the Colville Tribes and the town to reduce costs on such efforts.

"We need to start playing together on these things," he said, after Mayor Quincy Snow said he had been trying to get federal help on the costs and urged citizens to write Congress. Gabriel noted tribal representatives would be in Washington D.C. this week.

He also pointed out that CBC member Andy Joseph Jr. is a Portland Area IHS director, and that IHS might be willing to help fund such a project.
