Craig - Did You Know?
Craig is located on the west coast of Prince of Wales Island. The cornunity has about 1,500 residents. It is located on the main paved highway 30 miles west of the Alaska Marine Highway System ferry terminal at Hollis. In 1922, Craig was incorporated & it's the largest city on Prince of Wales.
The services include: AMHS (ferry) Office, ATM, Auto & Tire Repair, Blanking, Car Rental, Clothing, Fish Smokery, Fuel, Diesel & Propane, Groceries, Hardware, Laundromat, Harbor & Boat Launch, Library (free internet access), Liquor, Medical, RV Dump & Park, Post Office., Public Restrooms, Showers and Telephones, Lodging, Restaurants, POWER Thrift Store, Sporting Goods, Schools (including new cyber school offering on-line distance-learning programs), Swimming Pool / Rec. Center, Taxi Cabs and Youth Center.
Events: 4th of July Celebration - 3 days of activities including races, booths, & fireworks (July 3rd); the POW Island International Marathon - Memorial Weekend; Three Craft Bazaars - Spring, Thanksgivng weekend, early December
