Oregon Dairy Princess Coronation Set

Columbia County Dairy Princess Teri McGettigan will participate in the Oregon Dairy Women's 53rd annual Oregon Dairy Princess-Ambassador coronation banquet to be held Jan. 14 in Salem.

Teri is one of eight finalists from which the 2012 dairy princess-ambassador will be selected.

Teri is a 2010 graduate of Scappoose High School and is enrolled at Portland Community College and Oregon State University. She is the daughter of Terry McGettigan and Cora VanOsdel of Warren.

For the past year, Teri and the other princess representing Oregon counties have been promoting dairy products, educating the public about nutrition and enlightening their communities about life on a dairy farm through local schools, fairs and events.

The coronation banquet will feature speeches given by each of the princesses and will conclude with the transfer of the crown from reigning Oregon dairy princess Jessica Budge.

The banquet will be held at the Red Lion Hotel in Salem at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14. Ticket sales are in advance only. Tickets are $35 and $15 for children - tickets sold after Jan. 6 are $50. To purchase tickets, contact the Oregon Dairy Women at 503 357-9152.
