In August, Alice Hichey's fabric designs will be presented by Free Spirit Fabrics, produced by Westminster Fibers.
Pantone Fashion Color Report states, "Having just announced the upcoming line of fabrics 'Cottage Garden,' designed by watercolor artist Alice Hichey, it's clear that Westminster Fibers lifestyle fabrics in on track with the trend. Available to consumers in August, Cottage Garden will offer a stimulating subject for the latest generation of sewists."
Anne Roeann, editor of Pantone, said, "Faithful to the collection's name, these prints are comprised of hues inspired by flowers found in the garden. Seven prints will be available in three combinations which are up to the minute with modern trends.
"These designs are taken from the contemporary watercolors produced by Alice Hichey, a renown watercolor artist who has exhibited nationally and internationally across the United States. The fabrics will be sold and distributed worldwide, by Westminster Fabrics.
"All free sewing editors first spotted this trend taking tangible shape at the 2014 CHA show in Anaheim. Unconfined to soley fabrics, despite seeing tons of projects in every color under the rainbow, editors were unprepared for the latest news from fabric coats."
She added, "The newest addition to Free Spirit Lifestyle Fabrics ensures a continuation of the colorful movement that seemingly can't stop blooming in the sewing world."
Hichey is the latest and newest artist to the world of designers working for Westminster.Fibers.
Hichey, of Clarkdale, has continually been dreaming of having tons of fabric stored in her attic. Then along came Free Spirit Fabrics to make that dream come true. "I often dream dreams that come true," Hichey said, "and I believe it is a call from God."
