Three from Arthur involved in accident at Chesterville

A three-car accident on Route 133 at the Bourbon Road on Wednesday, June 29, sent three people to area hospitals.

According to the state police, Christine D. Sensenig, 24, of Areola was eastbound on Route 133. She stopped in preparation for turning left onto the Bourbon Road.

Matthew P. Wickert, 43, of Arthur was traveling east-bound on Route 133 behind

Sensenig. He failed to stop and struck the Sensenig auto in the rear end.

Wickert's vehicle spun out of control and crossed the center line into the westbound lane where it struck a westbound vehicle driven by Renee D. Dare, 86, of Arthur.

Sensenig's vehicle came to rest in the ditch along the right side of the highway.

Wickert was transported to Carle Hospital by Air Life helicopter. Sensenig was transported to Carle by Arthur Ambulance. Dare was transported to Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospital.

A passenger in the Sensenig auto, Elizabeth A. Miller, 73, of Arthur refused transportation to a medical center.

Wickert was issued a ticket for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

The accident occurred at 2:32 p.m.
