Arthur — Lovington/Atwood-Hammond FFA Alumni Chapter held their second annual meeting Tuesday, August 18, at Harris Agricultural Museum in Atwood.
Twenty-four members and guests enjoyed a supper catered by Pauly's BBQ, listened to reports, and elected new officers and directors.
President Jim Fleming of Arthur presented the annual report to the membership and announced membership now stands at 35 members with 13 of those considered as Life Members.
The group also heard from Wendy Leenerts, ALAH FFA advisor, and Jeanette Comstock and Colton Romine, ALAH FFA members who attended the recent FFA Leadership Camp at Monticello Their attendance and registration was a direct result of the work of the FFA Alumni Chapter.
FFA and Alumni will work together to sell pork burgers and host the petting zoo during the Arthur Cheese Festival, and the FFA Alumni will serve a pork chop supper on Friday, October 2, at the Merchant's Building during Homecoming.
Jim Fleming of Arthur was re-elected to serve as president. Stan Harris was re-elected to serve as vice president. Ericka Crist of Atwood was elected to serve as secretary. Wendy Leenerts serves as treasurer, and Jeff Davis of Hammond, Pam Utter back of Atwood, and Josiah Kinert of Lovington were elected as directors.
Membership in the ALAH FFA Alumni is open to anyone who has an interest in supporting the FFA and Agricultural Education.
You do not need to have been a member in the FFA to join the Alumni.
