Laurel A. Willis, 85, died in her winter home in Yuma, Ariz., on Dec. 15, 2013.

Laurel married Tom Willis in 1966.

She was a resident of Olympia.

Laurel served as the executive director of the Shelton

Mason County Chamber of Commerce from January 1990 to June 1996. In that capacity, she headed the annual Christmas parade and was involved in the Forest Festival.

She was surrounded by family at her death, including her husband of 47 years, Tom; son and Washington state Lt. Gov. Brad Owen and wife Linda; and daughter Angela and son Greg.

A memorial service will be held at a future date.
